17" rims on an Acura Integra?

1998 Integra LS 3dr, would 17" rims fit without needing the fenders to be modified? Also how would it affect the car? Should I just go with 16"?

17" will fit just fine. But you should get some 15" and spend money on the best tires you can afford. Much more fun.
 
No one should call wheels "rims." And especially not if you drive an Integra, because you're already neck-deep in a hole of awful stereotypes that you're trying not to live down to.

I have always called them rims, wheels (as a word) are just too generic.

Rims are the metal part that attaches to the car.
Tires are the rubber things that go on the rims.
Once the tires are on the rims they become wheels.
 
Unless you're in a Kia Rio, I don't know of any car that wouldn't fit 17 inch rims. My car came stock with 17s.

Tires are the rubber things that go on the wheels.
Once the tires are on the rims they are still separately wheels and tires.
