What 17" monitor does everyone recommend?
Anyone know any thing about Philips monitors?
Philips 17" 107P20 monitor boasts of a maximum resolution of 1920x1440x92kHZ,
and a recommended resolution of 1024x768x115kHZ.
How accurate is this? Seems high for a 17" monitor.

That is a real high max resolution for a 17"! However you have it listed in kHZ which is the horizontal scanning frequency. The vertical scanning frequency is the refresh rate.

Try a search on these forums. You'll find a lot there and then narrow it down to a few and if needed search on those specific ones or post a new thread asking about the few specific ones you have narrowed it down to.

I had the same question, you can go over to www.firingsquad.com and they had a review of a bunch of 17" monitors. The best overall they said was the Viewsonie E771.

You can get that for about $210. As of now thats the one i'm probably going to get.

Uh... its not 1920x1440@92kHz, the 92kHz is horizontal frequency, not refresh rate.

But 1920x1440 is indeed high for a 17", though the 107P20 only does it at 60Hz refresh rate, its video dot rate of 234 is the highest I've ever seen on a 17", even higher than Samsung's 700NF, which does 1920x1440@64Hz, and 1024x768@119Hz.
