Good find regardless, but is it just me or is the brightness a little on the low side?

Has anyone got this and seen how good it is yet? I am tempted to go pick up a few Our local CompUSSR has about 75 in stock... They had it and about 12 others on a REALLY bad Video splitter - even the MAG and Sony's were all blurry, so I could not judge the clarity or responsiveness. I will say when I got the OSD Menu up it was very sharp and clear, and had a LOT of adjustments that I have not seen in lower end LCD's.

The manufacturer's Web site reports the response time as 20 ms. That's better than 99% of LCDs out there! Only one of the Compaq LCDs has a comparable response time. This, of course, is a mistake on G-Vision's part ;)

OK guys. I stayed up to hook one of the ones I got up. Here are my *Preliminary* observations.

1. The name on the monitor in the box is KOGI - might help us find a review.
2. The color and brightness are VERY good. It appears to me to be VERY sharp!! VERY sharp - even better than my laptop and other LCD's. Perhaps their "Ultra Sharp" badging is more than marketing.
3. I did some misc. things on it, and it seems to have kept up. I am playing Lord of the Rings (I have a dual screen monitor) on the LCD while I type on my Samsung 950P monitor. I can say that the LCD keeps up VERY well with my Samsung.

Now, for the hard questions. What is a REAL way to test the Ghosting / bleeding questions? This movie lookd great on either screen so far. I do get pixelization, but that is my software since it is happening on my Samsung as well. I must say, that unless someone finds a test to prove this to be junk, I " Like it a lot".

VBboy. I am not sure - it seems to hvae a fairly responsive screen. Do you know of any good tests to try it out? I must say this LCD is rather nice now that I am staring at it - and my expectations were WAY low!

Does anybody have any clue what the warranty on this product is? That's the only thing keeping me from purchasing this so far....

EDIT: nvm, I found on the manufacturer's site that says all purchases from CompUSA and others come with a 3 yr warranty so it's all cool (or at least I have that dilusion)

vladgur, this isn't a compusa rebate, it's a mfr rebate as he said..
i'd trust mfr rebate over compusa any day.. so I think this might be worthy of getting.. (if it works)

I have 2. Just some more information: The time as laid out in the manual is 40ms. That being said, it did great with a DVD. I have fresh set of eyes after a great sleep - and it is a VERY sharp display - if you have blurry problems clean your glasses, set the Resolution at 1280x1024 either 60hz or 75 hz, and do the Auto-Tune on the menu. If that all fails, exchange it because mine is razor sharp.

Also, the MANUAL says a 90 day warranty - but I am going to print off the website AND call on the 3-yr that is advertised. 90-Day makes this C-O-L-D but 3 Years makes this HOT IMHO.

I can't tell from the pix. What color are the plastics on this monitor--white, grey, biege or silver?

I am not sure how this works, but for grins since I saw in the manual that the optimal for 1280x1024 is 60 OR 75 hz, I went ahead and tried some higher frequencies..... and they ALL work GREAT! I right now on my Dell Dimension 4300 am running a Radeon 8500 dual head at 160 hz YES One Hundred Sixty. I had to hit the auto tune so the text was as clear as before, but it is even brighter and more sharp than before. WTHeck?

I took a look at it at CompUSA but it was hard to get an idea if it was good because they only had a desktop screen displayed and no way to change it. I wasn't going to risk a restocking fee, so I didn't buy it but now I'm thinking about reconsidering.
