Soyo... wasn't there a big hubbub about Soyo not paying rebates on those "free" motherboards?

ecost really has fallen as a reseller, i remember when they first came out, they were getting off to a decent start. I ordered a couple things from them, all came undamaged and in good time. However recently i have ordered Sony fontopia earbuds and it took them almost 2 weeks to send to me. They somehow didnt process my order, they didnt even find out until 4 days after i placed my order! I had to call customer service several times, until i was finally helped, and i was granted 2 day shipping which still took like 3....Anyways it wasnt the worst experience but i sure wouldnt want to do it again. I also ordered a 1gb MS duo from them when they had a good deal going, the site said they had it in stock, but when after placing the order i got an email telling me they had sold out and i was on backorder. I waited for about 1 week before i finally cancled my order...Sure lots of poeple still have positive views on ecost, but tons of give negative feedback on their orders making them only a mediocre seller now at best.

yes.....soyo is a bad word to most folks here......I got lucky, my rebate came after 6 months or so

Ground shipping is about $16. I would probably look to buy from staples, officedepot, etc to get free shipping. That's assuming the price was comparable.

I'm still trying to get a $50 overcharge back from them. It's been over 2 months............

soyo has 8ms and the other has 15ms but both to expensive when you can get a 19" for about 50 more name brand too with dvi

You guys do realize that rebates are a total scam, right? It's an interest free loan you're giving them. Sometimes they never even pay back the loan! How are you going to collect on the loan? The IRS sure isn't going to take their house away for you.

While I certainly disagree with that statement, I personally wouldn't trust Soyo OR ecost rebates based on what I've read over the years. A Soyo rebate on an item purchased through ecost equals a double whammy in my mind. Maybe staying away from rebates such as those is one reason I've gotten back 100% of the hundreds of rebates I've sent off. Good luck to anyone who chances it!
