17" LCD (DVI) from Tigerdirect for $300 AR.

Doesn't sound like a hot deal. But it DOES have DVI and the contrast ration is 500:1 with a standard 25ms response time. 1280x1024 @ 75hz. Seems like great specs for the price.

at one point, I know TigerDirect sucked major at rebates (as in they tried to screw you any way they could), but I seem to remember someone saying they were trying to fix their image. Anyone know if they actually did?

Ordered a digicam from them 3 months ago.

The drivers did not work whatsoever, nor did the internal memory.

They refused to take a return saying "user error" even though I even videotaped what I was doing and email'ed it to them. They still said user error.

Finally got a new one from Argus (Manufactory) and called them and inquired about it, the CSR told me that it was a problem with the camera and there was no detection in windows because...whats that? The internal memory didn't work nor the flash card? Oh really?

Not to mention the flood of ads and emails i get from them daily.

However with that said, other people have had good deals with them. So I guess it is hit or miss, I just struck out on my order.

Wouldn't the Norcent 17" LCD @ $299.99 w/ free ship from staples be a better/safer deal? Deal is on techbargains.

I'm in on the TD deal. I have had three successful TD rebates in a row. I checked on the Norcent deal at Staples and the montor has a lower resolution than the TD one. You defineitely want better than 1024 on a 17' LCD.

If you have a problem with a TD rebate check with Richard Wallet at TD and he'll see about doing what he can with it.

Has anyone had any experience with this monitor? Deall looks pretty good, I have had good experiences with Tigerdirect, but then again, I have not needed to call customer service either though, to return or for defective product.

That is why I ALWAYS pay with a credit card. Ive had this happen to me twice with DOA mb's.
Two seperate stores tried to say i damaged the product and refused return. Called visa, got refunded full purchase price and never had to send them the mb's. Called MFG and for the cost of shipping got 2 free mb's.

Next time i suggest you teach evil retailers a lesson by getting them a charge back.
