This is a great monitor, the picture is extremely nice and crisp (using DVI), though it can ghost a bit, but what do you expect from something at this price point. It looks very nice, and the handle is also very useful. No dead pixels on mine. A great buy!

sounds decent for non - gamers

but for other uses thumbs up

Yes, this would be good for gamers as well. It's also got DVI (some people won't buy a LCD without it all though it's argued that you don't need DVI for anything under 19inches).

Depending on your video card, you can use DVI for monitors under 19". My 18" LCD monitors have a much better image with DVI than with VGA (using an older nVidia card). So go for the DVI, plus your resale value will be higher on a DVI capable LCD.

Not thread crapping, but keep in mind Newegg's dead pixel policy.

"Replacement or Refund for 8 or more DEAD PIXELS ONLY!"

This is according to PC Mag's review:
"It also includes an analog cable and a permanently attached digital cable"

They only give this monitor 2 of 5 stars. Here's the review. CTX S762G review

The negative points they gave it don't sound bad at all. If you are using an LCD monitor you should NOT be using VGA input anyway. That gets rid of 2 of the negatives. Only tilts (big deal), limited documentation (those papers I tossed?), shorter warranty (2 years - won't I be upgrading by then anyway? How many LCDs have I seen die...hmm).

Biggest problem is the 16ms figure and I see one review already about ghosting. If an LCD scores a 100ms refresh time across 254/255 colors, but gets a 16ms score on one color, it qualifies as a 16ms response time.

Sounds like a good deal for an entry level LCD, but I wouldn't expect it to be good for gaming or to hold it's value.

That's not a thread crap, just pointing out their policy which can be a good or bad selling point. Actually, the policy is once you buy an LCD, you are stuck with it. Period. I just bought a 19" Acer AL1912B monitor from Newegg and it has major problems (looks like a double column of stuck pixels). Go to RMA request, whether I select Repair or Refund, get a "manufacturer's warranty only" and cannot select the monitor. I now have to try getting warranty service from Acer (PITA).
