Just picked up one of these from Newegg: 17" Tyris LCD

My brother ordered one the other day and we set it up last night in less than 5 minutes. Sharp image, DVI, no problems with setup. A good deal at $190, even better deal at $130 after rebate.

I ordered one for my kids room at that price.

I was expecting some crappy response time / contrast ratio. Thing's got 8ms / 500:1 respectively with 12x10 max resolution!
 
This is a really good deal. I'd be on it if I wasn't saving for my trip to Thailand next week 😀
 
Newegg is fantastic! I ordered this monitor yesterday and came today along with some other goodies! Great CS and ultra fast ship!

Monitor looks great! No complaints so far.

How's newegg rebates for coming through? Any positive experiences?
Looks like this is a 6bit panel (16.2mil colors)? (Not crapping, that's about the only negative I could find and at that price it's still great).

 
No experience with Newegg rebates yet. We'll see...

However, I do buy locally at Fry's Electronics and other big box stores, and for the most part i have never had issues with a rebate. Just takes some patience, determination and good record keeping. The few rebates I had to chase were not a big deal because I keep very good documentation of everything. I used to shy away from rebates, but now it just makes good sense.

On a separate note, Newegg's service on this particular order was incredible. Fast ship, great help on the live online chat, and the prices were pretty good. All in all a good experience so far.
 
I just filled out and mailed my rebate form. From the looks of it, this rebate offer might be over by 4/23. Anyone thinking of jumping on this might want to touch base with NewEgg about the rebate situation today - might be too late next week.

The 19inch version, great reviews and same $60.00 rebate. I could have had a 19inch for $30.00 more.
