I bought it, then returned it. It seems that this exact same monitor is being sold under the brand "Princeton" as well. Anyways, I've tried the Princeton and Kogi ones, and they both had the exact same problems. Wavy lines at all resolution except 1024x768; no amount of adjustment seemed to fix it.

Yes but were those the native resolutions for the LCD's that you're mentioning. Cause' LCD's don't really like being viewed in anything but their native resolution. I'm not saying that they can't be, I'm just saying that of course if you change the resolution, it's going to look distorted.

I have tried a Kogi and returned it, bought a Planar from Dell when they had them on sale in February, and am quite happy with it.

I bought this 5 or 6 months ago from crapusa, it's a decent LCD for text/web, but fast scrolling web pages get blurry/ghosting. Haven't bothered to try it out on a fast game yet, although NFS: HP2 looks fine.

Most 17" LCD's display at a native resolution of 1280 x 1024. So don't be suprised when you have visual problems at lower resolutions. LCD's just aren't that flexible. If you don't like 1280 x 1024, then you should avoid a 17" LCD. Try a 15" that will display native at 1024 x 768.

In the above post it says: 1280 x 1024 maximum resolution at 60Hz
Can you actually run it higher like 70-75Mhz?

this was so hot a month back
I dont see any post on this a month ago? I was hoping for more feedback if it was so hot. :) I did see at amazon it showed it for sale and got good reviews from the few people that posted. Unless I was looking at the wrong LCD.

I think you can run it at 75 hz refresh rate, but that doesn't make a bit of difference with LCD's.

The key for LCD's is the response time (time for pixels to turn on/off) and this one is at least 50 ms.

I bought one of these about 5 months ago and paid more. Are there better LCD panels? Yes...but not at this price point. For $300, this is a excellent monitor. It is very bright, has very good viewing angles and will serve you quite well. If you are willing to spend another $100, you can purchase a Samsung 171V which is significantly better all around. If you want to spend even another $100, .... Well, hope you get my drift.

If you only have $300 and want a LCD panel, you can't do much better. If you want high speed gaming on a $300 budget, then you are looking at a 19" CRT. Simple as that.

As the noted economist Milton Friedman said, "TANSTAAFL", translated - "There Ain't No Such Thing As A Free Lunch".

The native resolution of this LCD is 1280x1024, yet it has terrible wavy lines at EVERY resolution except 1024x768, including lines in its own native resolution of 1280x1024.

I'm debating whether to pick this Kogi up or go with the 18" Microtek from Walmart for $398. Decisions...decisions...

I picked up a kogi about a month ago, my friend did also. We both like it very much. There is some ghosting in games and it took me awhile to get the brightness and contrast set up good, but I'm happy with it. Scrolling does bring blurring, but I've seen worse. Whoever said the response is above 50ms is wrong, the maker of the panel states 25 (which is also wrong I'd say). I'd say it's somewhere in between, but on the lower side. It's pretty nice, I'd say buy it... you can always return it. I'll also be reviewing mine for my website, so maybe I'll post a link then.

I have about the same experience with mine. Also, I believe the manual says that the response is 40ms which is probably correct.

Go in and ask them the response time of the lcd monitors. The look the BB people give you is priceless.

I haven't received my rebate yet from my purchase back in Feb. The rebate website that I check says that mine is Accepted but not sent out yet. That website is wheresmyrebate.com

As for phone #'s I have 2; one goes to rebate center and one goes to bestbuy (I think) I don't remember which goes to which, but 1 is :1-800-390-2344 and 1 is: 1-800-849-0444

Hope it helps

Something can be in the mail for a long freakin time. I sent a piece of mail priority mail from indiana to illinois while I was in school and it took over 10 days. Normally it takes two days tops. Stupid US mail.
