basically i watch a LOT of movies... and am plannig to get a LCD.. want a 19" under 400. figured 2005fpw (too expensive currently) would be good but am not sure if i can wait for the deal. fyi i dont play games

any input from users who watch movies on thier LCDs would be great.

not sure if this of any consequence but this is my current video card

fyi - figuring what lcd to buy is turning out be a greater ordeal than imagined for me, so i really want get one soon...

thanks...

If you watch movies and work, 2 x 17" LCD might be a better option, and not much more than one 19".
I nterms of real estate, they both run the same resolution, so you won't get any more pixels by going 19", but with 2 17"'s you will get twice the space.

thanks for the reply... isnt s-ips a technology for viewing angles? like s-ips lcds have excellent viewing angles (> 170)? is there any other reason for getting an s-ips based lcd? also from whatever i researched dont most s-ips lcds have slower response times (> 20 ms) when lcd size is <= 19"? wont this cause poor DVD playback (motion blur / ghosting)?

Lonyo thanks for the reply... but can i really get two for under 400 ? that might be real hard i think.. also 400$ is the absolute upper limit i want to spend. so i am prerferably looking for 350 +/- 25 .. but willing to stretch it to 400$ if lcd is awesome...:)

from all that i researched not many reviews/opinions focus on DVD play back.. so was hoping to get some input from users here.. who owned LCDs and have had a chance to watch a handful of DVDs on them ...

You can get 12ms 17" for $200~$210
Or 16ms for $195~$200
See here
Might be cheaper ones elsewhere, and you'd also have to be wary of quality, but even if you don't go with two, you oculd get one now and another shortly down the road. That would be my preference (I'm waiting until prices drop before getting 2 17" LCD, or if someone releases a 1600x1200 19"er, one of them)
