Is this a good deal? I went for it. My CD-ROM was bad and I needed a new one anyway. $135-$30 rebate

You can usually pickup a Toshiba or Pioneer 16 X DVD at local mom and pop computer store or online with shipping for less than 100 dollars. Both drives have good reputations. Just my 2 cents.

How does the speed of the dvd player matter all that much? I can see later on once games and software start coming on dvd's, but for movies, which they're only good for right now, what does it matter? Just curious
