ive never had problems with refurbs whatsoever...i think alot of refurbs are so also returns like some people have stated previously. and personally, i think newegg rocks and there customer service is top notch...buy from them.

I ordered the this drive from newegg a few days ago, but i got the OEM, not the refurb, $87 shipped. to me it's not worth the risk, but i've heard good things about refurbs at newegg. nice find

I used to work at a repair shop where we did refurb work on Nokia and Oki cellular phones. In the case of those specific phones, I would take a refurb over an original any day. While they were in for repair we would apply various engineering revisions that improved the performance and reliability of the phones. That's not to say all refurbished items get that kind of treatment, but I'd bet that it happens more often than not.

doesnt newegg offer free shipping on refurb products..sounds like an even better deal to me...

all you guys out there who have something negative to say about purchasing this drive...put up or shut up...
if you buy this at newegg and find something wrong with it then open your beak and bitch and moan otherwise put your hooter back in its place..

for that overstock deal on the duron case, i bought the components from newegg for for 6 systems for my colleagues at work and all the refurb parts worked just like new...
so anybody wanna get refurb stuff, go git it if the vendor is reliable and as someone pointed out...trying to get your brand new product replaced is like pulling an egg out of a chickens butt..

i bought a kk266 refurb MB from newegg. it worded fine. when i bought the board it had a 30 day newegg warranty. it also carried the iwill 1 year warranty. so when you buy these items you may have a longer warranty than just 30 days. it will be a bit more difficult dealing with certain manufacturers tho

oh yeah....i have the (pacific digital)lite-on 12/10/32. no coasters yet. excellent drive, and it came with nti2000 cd burning software.
