There are some things that can't be compressed effectively, and for everything else there is AVC😎

On my 3.4c, I can convert DVD video at around 1x. For 1080i transport stream clips, it's a slow snails pace of 0.1-0.25x.

Specs in sig right? You need a 3GHz+ for smooth playback of WMVHD clips. You need even more for these h.264 clips. So I really don't think your 2.4c can handle it.
