1680x1050 on 9800 pro

I've just ordered a 2005FPW, but, looking through my available resolutions with my 9800 pro, I don't see 1680x1050 in the list. I just grabbed the brand new drivers. There are all sorts of other wacky resolutions up there that my monitor can't support but not the one I need. I'm in a bit of a panic. Will the correct res be available when I actually plug the thing in? It says on the Dell site that the card is supported and I can't imagine why it wouldn't be... help, anyone?

You will not see the resolution, because your monitor is not wide screen.

I think he meant my current monitor, which is a CRT.

I hope that the not seeing the resolution thing is true. I'm still panicking and I don't think I'll stop until I see those numbers on my screen.

Oh. Plug the Dell 2005FPW come in and then ask us. 🙂

Of course it supports it. Are you just worried since Dell put a little note on their 2005FPW page? They are just warning some of their unfortunate customers who got a total piece of crap integrated video card in their Dell machine that 1680x1050 would be hopeless on them.

Had the same thing when I upgraded to the 2005 and have 9800Pro. After you install the monitor and driver the resolution will show up under the display properties.

My friend is often in panic with his computer.
After installing a program: "Where is it, i can't find it !"
After starting the program he clicks anything that makes it possible to run it without proper configuration: "Why this is not working !?"
After multiple error messages that he has learned to close: "It said something !".
He has heard that there is often updates for games, so he downloads and calls me after DL has finished: "Where did i downloaded it ?".

He don't have patience to read what some popup says, or any instructions.
He asks help from me, and i explain those same things over and over and over again..
He could solve all those "problems" by himself if he just would pay attention..

Im going to kill him some day. :|
