Is your connection still on? If yes, then nothing to worry about. If no, then I'd worry.

Why people are still using bittorrent I don't know.

p2p sux0rs, irc is a pita, dc (+,++?) has too much crap...

torrent is p2p

.....meh, to me it doesn't seem like a p2p like kazaa or nadster.

well, to the vast majority of the internet file sharing community... it is.

and to the OP, how old are you? heh... I don't think you have anything to be worried about, other than your dad agreeing to upgrade service.. which will get you your porn faster.

serioulsy though I will tell you what to expect as I have been through this same sitaution before.

First and foremost you are in trouble and there is only one possible solution.. .. you will need to speak with your father first and convince him to join your side and rally against the ISP which we will refer to as "the man".Second if you cannot convince him to join in against "the man" then he is your enemy and you will have to use your lightsabre on him.. ..sad yes but it must be done.If he stands with you then arm him with whatever you have (NOT your lightsabre tho) and proceed down to the ISP main office.

Once there kick the main doors open whether locked or not just to make an entrance and with sabre in hand demand to see this guy who called you. If he is not available ask to see "the boss" and hope he does not know you are coming or he may be prepared. If you have gasoline with you (always carry a can around..duh) pour it over everything b4 "the boss" appears and haul a$$ back home b4 any reinforcements show up.

lastly continue to dl anything you like including as mentioned goat pr0n or she-male and await your next victim.. ..i mean call.. ..

The fact that you're feeling guilty tells me you are a good kid. I'm sure it's nothing to worry about -- probably just about upgrading your service or something.

Anakin felt guilty about killing Windu and turning to the darkside, but that didn't stop his "good kid" by being overrun and destroying the galaxy, now did it. :p

Your dad will understand. C'mon he is your dad after all and he DOES notice you never date girls. He should be cool with it.

I thought they email you the notices when they catch you for sharing illegally. 95% chance this call was totally unrelated to your bittorrent use. stop being a bitch.

this is not so much of a problem when you are an adult. you'll learn the ropes soon enough. For now snuggle up with your beanie babies and try and calm yourself.

Now, if it turns out he was calling for some other reason, did you learn a lesson or are you gonna forget and go back to what you were doing? :light:

If they were inquiring about illegal d/l's, they would either:

1) First send you an email stating that they have noticed "suspicious" activity with your account, they won't first call you.

2) As long as you aren't a Seeder or you're not uploading at like a constant 256kb/s for hours on end, they usually don't catch you. People who get caught are usually those who are sharing through their networks and constantly uploading. If you're d/ling, don't sweat it.

3) If by chance they did flag your account as something suspicous, it's usually a verbal/email warning which just says, please stop and delete whatever you have or we will close your account and cut your internet service.

if you were really in trouble, the authorities would be giving you a call not your ISP

If you are really in trouble I would not expect a call from them. A swift kick in the door is about all the warning you will get.

Better remove all of the gay porn from your computer - wouldn't want that to show up in court...

Well i recently have been downloading stuff with bittorrent, as well as regular trips to securityfocus to 'test things out' and am very scared that someone has noticed my online illegalness :(.

This feeling sucks people, i advise you to keep your nose clean online always, even just so you can feel confident you have done nothing wrong! (I will from now on, too)

Bit of a lame thread i know, but just wanted to vent this

if you are such a vagina that a call from your internet provider sends you into a tizzy, you probably shouldnt be doing anything remotely illegal.
