My sister's dumping this Dell Prescott 3.6GHz 800FSB for the HP 170t we got her. In terms of heat output and fan noise, would it perform better or worse than my Dell 8300 3.4GHz Northwood desktop? I do no gaming at all. The most processor intensive tasks I run are web surfing, 2-channel stereo DAW software (i.e. M-Powered ProTools) and DVD movie and flash video playback.
