1600 works for 1333 MB? 3 duals work as triple?

If the motherboard says....
Memory Standard DDR3 800/1066/1333
Would 1600 memory still work, but just at 1333?

If it says it is a dual channel kit, would it still work for triple channel if I used 3 sticks of it?

Yes, but you may have to adjust the settings manually. Some X58 motherboards default the memory speed to to 1066 even when 1600mhz memory are installed. Depending on your setup, you might have to change some bios settings to get it to run at the speed you want.

If it says it is a dual channel kit, would it still work for triple channel if I used 3 sticks of it?
Yes. If you are putting in the same memory it will run tri-channel. The kits are just the same memory modules tested and sold together.

TJCS is correct, but just wanted to add that you may need to look at the timings of the memory and the voltage as well.

A lot of the 1600mhz RAM uses a higher voltage then the official spec calls for (I think the JEDEC spec is 1.5V, and a lot of 1600Mhz RAM runs at 1.6V or 1.65V). Think of 1600Mhz RAM as overclocking "regular" RAM.

Since you want to run it at a lower speed, you should be fine at the default voltage, but it is something you want to check to make sure it's stable.
