16 Pipe X800GTO from Sapphire $199 + $5 shipping

About to pull the trigger at AllStar @ $229 +$4 ship for the OEM. Is there anything to be concerned about between the retail, lite and OEM in regards to modding or just different accessory packs? Rebates, anything?

Thanks

* Edit or Edazz.com @ $220 + $7 ship?

I haven't had experience with either co, so any advice would be appriciated.

Thx

i bought from allstarshop on september 29 and it got to me mon oct 3. i bought the oem one and it came with a bunch of cables and a driver cd.

for $100 more you can buy a 7800GT which will kick this ATI's &^%^$ big time. And you will get latest product with save future investment.

How is that relevant? The 7800GT is great, but it's 50% more expensive. The GTO2, when unlocked and overclocked, gets pretty close in many games and represents a nice value for those of us who don't want to spend more. And don't you get a little queasy using the phrase "future investment" in discussing a video card?

Looks like you did not see the HOT deals recently EVGA has a deal for 7800GT for $339 and wit $50 cardpool it will be for $289, so you are spending only $80 more and you will get all the New Technology and their is no risk of unlocking all pipes fail or artifacts or voiding warranty.

When i say future investment means 7800GT will be minimum requirement for upcoming games like FEAR. So you don;t need to upgrade again.

And for your information ATI does not have any thing close to Nvidia's 7800 series, as it proved their X1000 series is no match for Nvidia.

Kris added this earlier to the first post if you missed it:

Update: Sapphire tells me this is a limited quantity SKU. There might not be anymore. The PM is checking for me now.

I would hate to buy this card to only be buying a normal card.

What do you mean by ' Normal ' ?

Once the supply is gone, how can you buy one ?

Are you thinking they will list as ' GTO2 ' and send you something else ?

I got mine a couple of days ago but just got to flashing it this morning.

16 pipes... in the process of oc'ing it now. ATI Tool is finding the max mem for me now. It put the core at 550! Memory is at 606 as of now. I think I'm going to leave things at 550 and 600 to be safe.

Too bad actual benchmarks prove you wrong.

Just ordered one. Damn they charge 8.75% sales tax, wtf? Shipping was $7.25 I think.

Yup,

Pagecomputer cancelled my order yesterday as well after charging my card on Friday afternoon when I ordered and they showed in stock. They sent a lame email saying that since I ordered it on the weekend they did not have anyone there to check inventories and update their website. I guess Friday is a weekend. On the good side, they did send a follow-up email this morning indicating that they had reversed the CC charges, so I guess not a huge deal. Will be taking them off of my list of hardware vendor links now though since it appears they have really dropped the ball lately.

I looked at atacom last night and went ahead for theirs now. Totaled $216.xx shipped. They indicated in stock, but then said it would take a day to issue an email with the order number, etc. Not holding my breath now with how fast these cards are disappearing everywhere.

Maybe I should just keep my 7800GTX after all and not use the difference ($150-$200) for an X2 upgrade. I played the FEAR Multiplayer demo and the 7800GTX struggles at 1600x1200 (for my 2001FP), so I know an X850 would be that much worse. The 7800GTX played single player CoD:2 demo well enough though, which is probably the game I'll migrate too next anyway. Come to think of it, the FEAR SP played fine though, so who knows how it will handle. Oh well, we'll see when/if it gets here I guess.

welcome guys 🙂

Btw, i'm moving up from a P4 2.0 and 9500 Pro flashed to a 9700 Pro.
My new system probably will be a 3000+, 1024 of PC3200 OCZ Value Series and a
X800GTO2.

You seem so sincere

I wish I didnt have to get a whole new system really for this. Changing to pci-e = getting new CPU probably since what MB has socket A and pci-e?
I am finding it difficult searching for an XP 3000 or 3200+ and an AGP upgrade in the $250 range.

No, there isn't. Your best bet is to get an A64 3000+ or 3200+ for <$130 and an Nforce4 Ultra (not SLI) mobo for ~$90. It hurts, I know. I just made the transition from socket A to S939 and PCIe.

Motherboard: Get the Epox 9NPA+ Ultra board for : ~$90 shipped (one of the best NF4 boards out there...2nd only to DFI Ultra-D in overclocking but has much less hassles)

CPU: Get the Athlon 64 3000+ or 3200+ (both should be under $150).

ANOTHER GD CANCELATION LETTER. This time from Directrion. And I placed an order DAYS AGO. Why does god not want me to have this card?

to the guy who can't do 510 stable: thats prolly cuz ur using stock cooling... gotta put some other cooling solution to overclock to XT PE speeds(if that's what you want)

Allstar is up to $235 now ( OEM + $4.50 UPS Gound ).. Only place that seems to have them now..

They do ship fast.. I ordered yesterday and got tracking number about 2 hours later..

I'm done with this, I'm tired of the price gouging. I'm not going to let my PCI-X board go to waste though. I'll be picking up a 7800GT. Next best thing for price/performance ratio.
