16 phase power?

I'm looking at purchasing a P5Q when I build my new system and see it touting it's "True 16-phase power" and I have no idea what this means or represents. Someone care to shed some light on it?

Very simple really, mobo regulators are also voltage power supplies.

Asus mobo had 16 independent multi-rail (multi-phase) power supply with all outputs tied back into a single monster rail.

True Multi-rail power supplies are more dependable and more reliable than single-rail power supplies even when used as single-rail power supplies.
