It's utterly disgraceful that there are any homeless veterans at all. They risked their lives and their health serving and protecting us, and we can't even be bothered to provide housing for them?
Well, that's not completely true. There is a program called HUD/VASH that provides permanent housing, but the Republicans forced a $25 million budget cut earlier this year. That's right... a measly $25 million, a sliver of the federal budget, just *had* to be cut.

This isn't the 60s and 70s, Americans don't spit on veterans anymore, but we still don't really care about them. If we did we'd do everything we could to help them in return to what they've done for us, including providing housing, medical care, psychological care, etc.
