Pythons are pretty harmless as far as humans go. I think there's been a few kids that have been eaten, but pretty rare.

They're only a problem in floriduh, outside of the everglades they can't really survive for long... too dry, cold, whatnot.

So doesn't make much sense banning pets in Montana, where they can never possibly live in the wild... they're self limiting there. FL, and a buffer like GA and AL might make sense though.
(but it's hopeless now anyway).

Burm is such a beautiful snake

the albinos are my favourite.

yeah I was tempted to buy a Albino burmese afew years ago. then common sense got ahold of me. You can get morphs of Burmese FAR cheaper then you can of ball pythons.

but ..

Have you not seen Snakes on a Plane?:D

There is actually some truth to that. A lot of invasive snakes have been found hiding in landing gear. They are able to survive the flight that way.

I vaguely remember reading a few years ago that this is a huge problem with brown tree snakes in Guam.

Relevant:

The British government was concerned about the number of venomous cobra snakes in Delhi. The government therefore offered a bounty for every dead cobra. Initially this was a successful strategy as large numbers of snakes were killed for the reward. Eventually, however, enterprising persons began to breed cobras for the income. When the government became aware of this, the reward program was scrapped, causing the cobra breeders to set the worthless snakes free. As a result, the wild cobra population further increased. The apparent solution for the problem made the situation even worse.
