I bought one of these 2 weeks ago for my brother's system. Although the ChiefValue description says it supports the xd format, in the documentation that comes with the reader it's listed as "optional".

The OEM internal readers carried in recent weeks by Comp Geeks are USB2.0 "full speed" limited to 12Mbits/sec (1.5MB).

This reader is USB2.0 "high speed" with max transfer of 480Mbits/sec (60MB).
