$15K - $25K for a FWD car

Kinda curious. I love the Dodge Charger and Challenger but they are RWD. Will not work in the North east winters. I love the styling though.

What would you get for a 4 door car that has a big engine in it for under $25K? The only rule is 4 doors (or a big back seat 2 door) and FWD or AWD? Oh, it has to be new!

I'm a year or two away from this purchase but thinking about it isalways fun 🙂

EDIT: mid-szie car. Need to get 2 adults and 2 kids in the car.

2012 focus for economical (ST would add some fun, should be out late next year)

WRX for some AWD fun, but not so great mpg's.

Accord V6? Decent power, good MPGs, spacious interior. EX is $23k*, EXL is $25k*. It's got a take it or leave it styling, but I like it. Sonata 2.0T is another good option.

Styling is the tricky part, but for larger size, how about a Subaru Legacy or Outback?

What size are you looking for? Some of us are suggesting mid sized but most are suggesting compacts and subcompacts....

Ford Fusion V6. It's average for all intents and purposes, which isn't a bad thing. Available with AWD (V6 only) or a higher-powered V6 (Sport model only) if that's your thing.

It's definitely more family-centric than sports oriented, but it does it's job well.

Sorry, didn't read NEW. lol. You can still get any of those I listed for a decent price. And in mint condition. Even with existing warranties.

I don't think you will get a truly "big" engine for that price range, but there are some nice v6's in that class for sure.

Doh, I missed that part.

OP, Why do you want a "big engine"? Big engine doesnt always equal big power.. Ive raced (drag and autox) against V8s in many cars and been significantly faster with my 4-banger

What V8 cars did you race? And what is your 4 banger? lol
