for example, any reg system...no OC...i wouldnt say anthing less tnat 480...but i could be wrong...

500+ if you OC or have a more powerful CPUm (FX, P4, ect..)...and make sure u get a brand name PSU too, not a cheapie!

you should be considering upgrading your graphics card rather than CPU. 6600GT SLI = Waste of Money

Thanks for the flame now go away.

Most likely going with a Winnie 3000+, def looking to oc.
Wow 500w for a couple 6600gt?
I have sickly oc'ed P4 rigs w/ 300-350w Antec, Enermax psu without a hitch.
But again, this is my first AMD venture.

He's right, not flaming. The cheaper X800XL would be a better value. Sell them on eBay and pick up a better card.

I think you'd probably very fine with a quality 400W PSU tho.

Guys, I do a bit of reading on here and have seen the various threads on how much 6600gt's suck. Thanks for your opinions but they were acquired in a trade and I am gonna give them a shot:)

Probably gonna go with Enermax or Antec.
Would you say at least 18A on the 12v rail?

nahh i dont think u require 500W for a 6600GT SLI setup...400W should be more than enough unless u have a lot of other peripherals

I ran a Winnie 3000+ with a 6600gt on a 250antec. I can't imagine it needing an Antec higher than 400watts though, ask one of the Beta testers to be sure :).

Um. Whatever you got, it will most likely work fine. Or please do a search or read the PSU FAQ.

theres....thats enough proof to show that the 6600GT does take up much juice at all...dont waste money getting 500W+ PSU unless u plan to get an Ultra SLI setup.

I'd say 400W is more than enough. But make sure it's got higher amerage on the 12V (don't get any of the 18A Antec ones, you should consider 21A as a minimum) and preferably single rail since you're running SLI.
