Last resort. I'm not going to do that to an expensive wallet. If it were my $20 wallet, I couldn't care less.

I think I legitimately deserve a brand new one ... I've had this in my possession for less than 2 hours.
 
If the seller is good & has lots of + feedback you'll probably be ok.. I have been happily surprised a few times with this sort of thing from there.
 
hopefully... now my wife is coming home expecting her gift (I told her we got it) ... and I don't know whether to give it to her as if it were all good (and wait for her to discover it, then explain a possible exchange) or tell her up front it's broken and it's definitely going back. What a sh!tty way to give a gift huh ?
