Uh, they went into the cave place and blew the bugs up and caught the big queen bug and sodomized her with some prods at the end in the training video or whatever.

I totally forgot, and I need to know for one of my assignments 😉

I remember up to the part where Rico becomes the commander, but what happens afterwards?

they capture brain bug, then a military propaganda segment, then credits.

Crap, forgot to mention book. I doubt my teacher will even realize. I'm the only person in his class that actually knows how to write a proper paragraph, so whatever I hand in is stamped with 100% 😀

Yeah, my English 11 class is pathetic.

So does anything specifically happen to Rico? Does it say whether he stays with the Federal Service, or goes off to fsck around somewhere else?

With Ender Wiggins going on to be the "speaker for the dead" which leads into the follow up story.

um...that makes no sense.
Starship Troopers was first published in like the 60s (50s maybe?).
Ender's game was first published in the 80s (maybe 90s?).

Unless Heinlein had special future mind reading powers, it isn't possible he ripped off card.

and the lesson that we will win no matter what happens, because of who we are, and what we believe in, is alluded to. Very propagandistic, which is what caused the great controversy over the book in it's day, but still a fun story.

I had an ex-marine as a roommate in college and tried to get him to read the book just to get his perspective. I remeber he adamantly declined to read that "nerdy sci-fi". But after leaving the book by the shitter he ended up reading it and he commented "Wow that's a lot like how the marines were".
