Looks like a tennis racket!

I rarely go for these types of gadgets, but I happened to try one of these at a friend's house, and they really do work! Not only do they actually zap the bugs, but you also get the satisfaction of hearing a "zap!" and you can see the bug literally get fried in the mesh. Hours of fun watching 'skeeters get caught in the metal mesh, get zapped and finally explode......

This is great for the dorm room, too. It hurts like you wouldn't believe to get hit with this thing...

We got one off Ebay. It's the same color but looks better without the plastic design on the metal wires. Runs well off 2 AA batteries.

I gotta say I love it with a passion. We've been electricuiting moths all summer. Works on seemingly all insects. One touch and their goner. It does zap loud when you hit larger bugs ... but totally silent on those meal moths.

Great thing to combat those West Nile mosquitos! 🙂

Unforunately, these things kill the "good" bugs and don't tend to attract the annoyers, like mosquitos and horseflys. Better to get one of those CO(2) traps that get the "bad" bugs and leave the "good" ones to keep doing what they do.

Since you need to push a button to activate it plus you'll need to swing it at the bugs you want to zap, you get to decide which bugs live and which bugs die.

"Good bugs"?! Any bug in my house, especially in the bedroom, is not good!

They are mini-trespassers and I am the judge, jury, and executioner on these buggers. 🙂

these things are really unsanitary
i used to love them but then i thought about it some and realized that the bug has to go somehwere when it is zapped
because the bug is EXPLODED, that means his guts are splattered everywhere
so that means you get germs all over the place
these things arent really sold in the states anymroe b/c they arent sanitary. which is also why you can find them so easily in asia where there arent stringent rules on sanitary house items

Disgusting. Ever killed a mosquito full of blood? Use this thing in the house and the blood and guts are splattered all over the place.

Just to go with the little saintation thing...

Why do you think they recomend you to keep food and eating areas 10-15 feet from those blue light bug zappers?

since when is life in general sanitary anyway?? Not even at a hospital....
I think this is a great idea... where are these things sold at apart from the net and what do they go for? thanks

doh, i was eating breakfast and reading this thread:disgust:

I saw these and the blue light zappers while in Asia. Scared the crap out of me when I was standing next to one of the blue light zappers and it zapped a few bugs in a row.

These bug rackets do NOT explode bugs.

They just fry them. Yes, you see sparks running through their bodies, sometimes a crackle, and see some wifts of smoke but that's it. They don't blow up and splatter bug guts. Bugs get cooked/stuck on the racket--just blow/shake/wipe them off into the trash can--that's it!

They are not as high powered as those blue lights (which I've tried but soon retired because of the scary noise) but these paddles do their job very well.

yeah, the bugs are definetely whole and intact after you remove their dead fried carcasses from the racket...i have three in my apt for each of my roomates...

I love these thing I was trying to look for one in the US. I used one in HK last summer, and it works great. Anyone know anywhere else sells it (without the handleing fee). What I should search under in Ebay.

These things are hecka fun!! You go to a national park like Big Basin in the summer and there are so many mosquitos. All you have to do is wave your racquet and five or six bugs die.
