I have to give a negative on that, Chancellor. In fact, I think I'd pay $2.99 to have someone take away my copy of Ulysses.;):p:cool::disgust:

i ordered my books on 11/1 and received 11/13.
i got 4 Java books total of $189.96 for $5.97 + $12.99 shipping = $18.96.
i also referred my friend to join the club and i will get 3 books (total can not exceed $110) free plus shiiping. Depends on what book club your friend join, you will have different amount.
So i guess i will get $300 books for less than $30.

Just one more book to buy in next year.

Rule #1: If the book isn't published by O'Reilly, it's a pile of garbage.

While this rule doesn't always hold true, nearly all non-O'Reilly books really suck. Sams seems to be the worst offender. You can find free online docs better than most of the stuff that comes out of that trash dump.

Anyway, before you shell out $5 or whatever for an awful book, do a yahoo search for "Perl" or something and you'll be suprised how many helpful tutorials you can find. O'Reilly books really aren't that expensive and are almost always worth the extra $20 or whatever. Go to your local Barnes and Noble and you can get 20% off everything.

Here's something you can do:

Make sure the books are sold at bn.com... get them... then go to bn.com and tell them you don't have a receipt and that you'd like to either return or at least exchange the books... and then they give you a gift card for RETAIL value of books..

Basically you end up getting any book you want..

I've done this before without any problems. Since Barnes and Nobles turnover rate is slow, then don't mind having a couple of extra books lying around if you take some others..

Anyway, just a thought!
