Totally agree about the album thing.
I prefer CD albums because I'm more likely to listen right through.
Sure, I could do it with a purely digital copy, but the temptation is too great to just skip around.

Many of my (slightly) older music I can sing along to, and then start singing the start of the next track on the album because I listened to them as albums so many times.

Regarding albums & listening straight through - could it be because the model of 2 or 3 good songs & filling the rest of the album with crap has finally failed? Look at albums of yesteryear - plenty of good songs with one or two filler songs. But not that record companies hold bands to x-number of CDs, bands are going for quantity, not quality.

And though you may find some some discussion boards and community sites that still encourage good manners and penalize offenders, they are becoming increasingly rare.
I disagree, I think they're becoming increasingly common.

I agree, but even in the days of albums record companies required bands to produce a given number of records.

I only download full albums, I can't stand just having a bunch of random singles. But yes, the reason most people have gone away from that is because albums only have a good few songs. I would never pay for a full album.
