Here are some tweaks...I was able to get a REALLY sharp picture from this Proview LCD through some minor adjustments:
First download and install the Proview monitor driver:
http://www.proview.net/proviewpnp.exe
Change the monitor in Display Properties to "Proview 510/560/580 15-inch LCD". Set the refresh rate to 60Hz (others are just too blurry) and 1024x768 resolution.
Use this test pattern to first set the BRIGHTNESS and IMAGE LOCK:

Adjust IMAGE LOCK so that all three patterns are stable and lines are sharp. This test pattern is really good, especially if you use IE 5.0+ at fullscreen (F11). Then beginning with BRIGHTNESS in the center, reduce the level until the pattern begins to break up. Leave it a few steps up to keep the patterns sharp and stable (I discovered this anamoly -- that the BRIGHTNESS control seems to affect the freq/phase -- tonight while trying to sharpen the image).
Then go to here to adjust the CONTRAST:
http://www.zdnet.com/pcmag/features/hardware/1517/montest/1024aa.htm
The brightest pattern on the right should have the squares distinct. Set it as low as possible, but still keeping the rightmost square most bright. The left should fade evenly into black (BRIGHTNESS already set above).
That should do it. If necessary, you can tweak the gamma/color temperature through your video card driver and/or photo color management program (Adobe Photoshop has a nice color management wizard for this).
Now this picture is stable, bright and sharp. In the beginning I was disappointed at how fuzzy the LCD was even at the standard 1024x768 resolution. Best $340 (had to buy a power supply) I have ever spent!
