Two power supplies shown on the second video. It converts AC to DC. They're both 52 amps each.

Also, why do people insist on playing rap songs to show off their subwoofers? A lot of hard rock hits more bass than a rap song does... you could also be using demo files for subwoofers.

Because they just LOVE to annoy their neighbors with dat sheet!

you should plug your driver and cabinet specs into WinISD and see what kind of response curve you get. I'm not much into car audio anymore, but I have 2 JBL 2240H 18"s being driven with a QSC PLX-3002 right now. Very clean, and they sound great! Actually hit lower than my old dual 18" cabs did... and I can carry these by myself. :)

Haha don't even compare pro gear to auto sound stuff. Most of (car audio) tends to be the famous "one note wonder" bass for SPL contests (burping). At least they could excuse themselves after that burping! :p

2240H's are far more *musical* and will handle far greater power continuously. Of course with abuse you can still get driver failures. :Q

Sure as long as you have the right stuff...

What are the advantages/Disadvantages of having Car audio used as a home theater system?

Advantages: none that I can think of. Perhaps if you already have this stuff and no car (or interest) to put it in but that leads to the plethora of disadvantages...

Mobile gear works on 13.8VDC power. The power in your home is either 120VAC or 240VAC. So an extra component is necessary (power supply) which adds complexity, conversion losses and expense to the equation.

It is also argued like there is no tomorrow that mobile equipment has inferior sound quality when used in an interior listening environment. While the sound "quality" that I've heard around car stereo surely doesn't leave much to "write home" about, I have not had the hands on experience with fitting raw drivers intended for car stereo installation into fixed cabinets that would be used in a typical playback setting.

Most of my experience with A/V is on the professional level as it is so I'm sure there's others (Y3HDJ) can chime in with inputs on consumer oriented gear. :)
