I wouldn't live in any of these places. I can see what people say about Seattle, but Seattle sucks outside of the summer. It's depressingly gloomy 9+ months of the year. Portland is a bit better, but generally the same. It's not until you get down near Eugene do things start to get better.

I wouldn't live in any of those places though. I really don't see the appeal of Brooklyn (how is a borough a city?) unless you're a hipster/wannabe-cool-guy. :/

I've only been to Seattle's airport so have never personally experienced the climate. But if what you see of Seattle in The Killing is any indication of the weather then no thanks. Nashville weather is already bad enough in its own way so if I do pick and move its going to have to be to a place with fantastic weather or some type of amazing outdoor activities when the weather isn't great. Boulder might be nice.

Brooklyn, Seattle, Austin, Portland, Raleigh are the "hot cities" of the present and are likely to cool down over coming years. Including Detroit on the list must be someone's idea of a joke. Nashville is fucking boring. Pittsburgh and Philadelphia might appeal to some people in an emerging market kinda way, the same sort of folks who would live in Slovakia. Only anti-social Unabomber types are going to move to some Bumfuck Egypt place like Bentonville or Williston.

Nashville is fucking boring.

I guess it just depends on what you're looking for. How long were you in town and what did you do? We've got sports and plenty of entertainment options around, music and bar scene for example. We're definitely weak in the outdoors department but Chattanooga isn't too far away to the SE and the Great Smoky Mountain National Park is only a few hours away to the east for an awesome weekend trip.

North Dakota? Are you kidding me? I mean, no offense to North Dakotans, but anyone who thinks somewhere that's basically Canada is going to be one of the hot places for all the hip, groovy people to move to is smoking some very potent weed.

Mountain View not close enough for you?

Mountain View is just one of several. :colbert:
