15 gig 3gen IPOD refurb from apple

At the apple store they have the 15 gig 3rd gen refurb for $189. Considering I bought my 10 gig 2nd gen for $169 almost two years ago this isn't too bad.

My refurb came brand new (if it was refurb I doubt it was even opened for a couple seconds), and has the same warranty as new ipods. YMMV on the refurbs though as I've read they actually do look like refurbs now.

order now these refurbs from apple usually go quickly. they come with everything, including 1 year warranty which is great. most of them look brand spankin' shiny new too.
 
Just ordered one...total $205.30 thats with $16.30 tax for NY mofos....

Somehow I have a bad feeling about this...maybe cause I am broke!
 
Damn..i want one sooo bad...but I just don't see the use of it as I am usually in class, in my room (listening to music on my comp), or out at a friends place, club or something...don't really have "time" to even listen to the iPod itself 😕
 
Ok maybe im just out of the loop on the whole ipod thing but can you transfer any mp3s to it you want or do they have to by legal or from itunes? Also do i need drivers to use it or can i just plug and play? And can you use them like a mass storage device or only mp3s?

Also Outpost has the Creative Nuvio? 4gig for 179 new and i was wondering how the ipod compares other than the 4gig to 15gig difference. Finnally the nuvio seems like it has a pretty small screen where as the ipod has a larger one. With the larger screen though are there games and stuff on the ipod?

Finnally how does its having no docking station effect me? Does it come with an ac adapter and a way to transfer songs with out it?

Edit: One last thing how are the head phones with the ipods? Ive never been a big fan of the buds but i could get used to them if they are high quality and fell nice.
 
-You can use it as data storage. You can use any mp3, wma (converted), acc files.
-Ipod IS overpriced. I would have bought another brand/type but was given one as a gift. You have some basic games, calendar...
-You don't need a dock. 4G Ipod comes with USB2 and firewire connector cables. Comes with AC adaptor/charger. Also charges off data cables.
-Very average ear buds. You will want something else.
 
Thanks for the info saved me some money although doesnt seem like a bad deal for a 15 gig even though i could probably never need that.
 
I got mine in almost a week ago now, but only got around to playing with it yesterday to find out that it only works when its plugged into the ac adapter or my computer.

Now I have to send it back and wait weeks for a new one to be sent out or try fixing it myself and risk voiding the warranty.

Also, it doens't come with any kind of usb hookup, so I had to buy a firewire pci card to connect it to my computer, I don't know if this is the case with all ipod's or just these factory recertified ones.

That is some kind of BS though sending out recertified ipods that don't even work. I am very dissapointed so far.

That's normal for 3G ipod. All retail came with just the firewire hookup. Only 4G are shipped with USB and can actually be charged with the data/usb cable.

 
Dude so I finally got my iPod from apple

this thing is like brand spanking news the wrapping and all. Everything sealed adn smells free like a babys a$$...

Just one thing when I turned it on it was in german or some ish..I was like WTF DUDE!!! then just reset all settings to english and bam...use the baby everyday
