That must be a horrribly designed cooling system. The are probably working against each other. I dont even see room for 15 fans in most cases.

what do you think?

I think he's probably a teenage kid looking for bragging rights. Anyone THAT worried about temps and had half a brain would do one of two things:

1. Watercooling.
2. Ghetto box: take side of case and stick box fan blowing into it.

I read the post, and the guy doesn't seem to be trying for overkill. He truly beleives he needs these fans. First off, he probably doesnt have good cable management and thats why adding so many fans gives him better cooling temps. But lets say this guy installs all of these fans correctly (close to the same intake as outake). Creating such a force of air through the case chamber, wouldn't this cause like a ton of static electricity?

I have 10 case fans, plus 2 from PS and cpu fan, that's 13 all together. it's pretty useless, just did it for fun.

all case fans are nmbs hooked up to a baybus.

5 fans is more than enough.

I have 1 intake 120mm and 1 intake 80mm. Then, one exhause 120mm and one exhaust 80mm in the PSU. Pretty much very well balanced...

If you read the original post, he DOESNT list the CPU and GPU fans. In total he's got more than 15. More like 18.

It would seem difficult to avoid problems with air turbulence with so many fans. You'll just have warm air stagnating in the case, being blown around instead of out. I just use 2 intake,2 exhaust + 2 psu and 1 120mm side fan. All run very quietly by fan bus and the case stays nice and cool.

I wonder if they even tried with fewer than 15 fans?
IMO that's just insane! I have one case with 3 80mm fans and the other has 5 80mm, though only run 4 normally. The 5th is an "effects" fan, LED fan that is on only when I use my CCFL.
15 fans. Sheesh.

i think it is funny. but more power to him if it makes him happy.
not any worse than putting in a bunch of useless colored lighting.

I suppose that's true, but at least the lights are quiet ;)

lemme count the fans in my case... 2 per micro ice rad... 2 rads, thats 4, 1 120mm on top, thats 5, 2 80's up front, thats 7, 2 80's in rear, 9, 1 120 in bottom, thats 10, and my finger-cutter 127mm 390CFM in the side panel... 11 Fans in a watercooled system? hooked up to a 3.5" handmade baybus, a 5.25" dual voltage baybus, and a Sunbeam Rheobus... plus the Digidoc, which has a 40mm fan, 12 fans... goes its overkill.... Oh, forgot the HSF on my soundcard's SPU, and the HSF on the southbridge+one on the RAID controller, and one on my NIC.... actually, i'm kidding about those last 4...
