15 degree increase in idle temp?

After i disabled ACPI in win2k, my idle temp rose from 33 to 48. Stressed temp remained the same at 52. I checked to make sure nothing was running, and windows said there was 0% processor usage. I booted into winMe, and the temp quickly dropped back to 33. Does this make any sense?

There's an idle cpu cooling thread in WinME and Win2000, evidently only when ACPI is enabled.

If you want to enable the HLT command you will have to return to ACPI.
