Chrysler is no surprise. I suppose a drug store chain is to me (Rite Aid), but I don't hear much about them. Blockbuster or movie gallery--one of them has to die soon, basically everybody in the world knows that, their business models are crap going forward, B&M a big fail for access to movies.

Too bad about Claire's--I had expected my kids to like that store when they grew a few years older. I guess now they will have less access to skanky attire.

Krispy Kreme: They are a marketing firm with a storefornt. They are able to generate a lot of hype that sells franchises but once it dies down so does sales. The last Krispy Kreme in MN closed 2 years ago after a huge opening in 2002.

Blockbuster: Terrible business model that hasnt adapted to the internet like it should. Netflix and Hotbox are killing them. I think the only way Blockbuster would have died sooner is if they went through with their terrible idea of buying now defunct Circuit City. You cant make this up lmao.

Sirius Radio: Hard to get people to pay for something that is essentially free. Sure it has better programming and you can listen to it across the country. But who cares? Apparently not a whole lot as it has never been profitable.

edit: Anything that requires a Mall is in trouble. Malls across the country are slowing doing the walk of death as more people go to boutique shops or move online. The once staple of America for the past 50 years is starting to cave to advances in how people shop.

Now clearly the big wigs in DC will view this differently and give them a tax payers bailout. Which is the equivalent of pissing into the wind.

BearingPoint is a significant local employer here. I know some people that have already been let go from their local development house. It is a shame, they were fine programmers. As a matter of fact, I will be attending one of their sponsored programming competitions in the coming months.

I'm really surprised it or movie gallery haven't yet died. They are doing terribly but somehow continue to have found enough money to not have quite died yet. As brick and mortar businesses they are finished.

Last time I went to one... my kids pooped out about 5 hours before closing. There were no lines and they got tired running from ride to ride. It was crazy. I have never been to an amusement park before that had no people. This one was near Dallas and was a nice park.

Last six flags I did was atlanta. So fvcking crowded I did about 3-4 rides in 7 hours. I hope the place burns.
