Methinks the guy has too much time on his hands. What is, after 14, 987 layers, his hard drive crashed WITH NO BACKUP????

I dont get it. So this is all just digital drawing? No actual pictures involved? I thought photoshop was for touching up real pictures.

im sure anyone working on something like that every night makes a dvd backup of the file. I know I would, too much invested to test your luck.
that said, i too want the flattened image, uncompressed and full glory, as to make a poster out of it. That would be too damned awesome.

He sells prints for roughly $2000, so I doubt he's going to give you his file.

i never said i realistically thought he would, seeing as he put 2000 manhours into it. just that it would be nice to have a print ;)

I'm going to go against what most people think here.
There's nothing aesthetically appealing about that image, which is what art is supposed to be about.
Listing large numbers does not suddenly make a piece of art good.

so you don't consider photography an art? He simply makes photos using photoshop ;-)

I have to agree actually (and I guess is why I have not found a reason to post in this thread until now), while I find the work amazing, and really appreciate the man hours that went into it, and the skill and effort, I will probably forget about it in an hour or so, nor would I ever use it as my desktop etc.

IMHO, his work shows that he is meticulous, but not particularly gifted.

OTOH, the guy writes photoshop books - it's not like he's pretending to be the next Chuck Close, much less the next Picasso.

its very cool, I just think the 2000 hours he took on it could of been spent on something a bit more productive considering that same scene could of been created in 3d in better quality in a fraction of the time

very cool, but a little masochistic that he chose to do this in photoshop instead of a 3d modeling program...
