Well, it is Sony after all.

Donlin said the boy also was cited with simple assault, a misdemeanor, for scratching another student with a key. Donlin said the student who was scratched was the one who told school officials that the boy had pornography on the PlayStation.

"You finkin' rat, I'mma cut you with my key. I'mma key you up so bad!"

Class C felony is insane. I remember the administration doing some locker raids back when I was in middle-school. The wors those kids got was a few days off.

Like the kids in that school haven't seen their parents have sex on the dinning table before.

What happened to just contacting the parents and informing them they have a numbskull for a child?

That has no place in modern day America.

It is pretty ridiculous...however, I'm sure that this is a once-in-a-thousand case. The times when a kid brings porn to school, and they just confiscate it and call the parents, don't make the news.

Look at where it happened. Bismarck North Dakota . This is all politics. You have a very, very conservitive state, and odds are somone(either city, state or county attorney) is up for re-election. And they are taking a 'stand' for 'family values'. But regardless, ALL criminal charges should end up being dropped. 1st amendemnt will keep it from being 'obcenity', and one minor cant be charged with 'promoting to minors' that is a satute for adults. And really, a scratch? IF you are pressing charges over a scratch, I dont know how you could look in the mirror and take yourself seriously.

Wow. Middle schoolers here bring porn on their laptops all the time... Some kid got busted too... No felony charged against him though (although he did break the school contract), and his ibook wasn't revoked?...

Course now he's stealing the iBook chargers and selling em lol.
