So anyway..last night I went to my parents so I could drop off my car at the shop. Spent the night chatting with friends and Mark. ^_^ There was one point where I got really mad at something that was being discussed. Then mark posed a question about it and I realized I was being childish and not very understanding. Basically I had to try to understand things from stan's point of view. So here's the fresh start...I'm going to stop getting mad at stan for some things he says or does that I would normally take offense to. I'm hoping that by respecting his requests that he'll learn to deal with mark and I dating or heck me dating anyone for that matter. Cause he really needs to move on. But it's a much bigger issue with them being roommates. I'm hoping that in dealing with things in this manner than everyone can be happier and maybe mark and i could date without the drama. hehe It doesn't mean that his behavior doesn't have to stop. It does. I have selected an amount of time that I think is appropriate to give him to adapt. If he can't then I'll probably cut off communication with him (much like tom and I) so he can stop this emotional crap.

god I love this band...So unlike anything I've heard before. Great lyrics, great music..plus I love the lead singer's voice (always does it). But even his wife's voice is really cool. Now to find out if they like 3somes...jk. lol "

I've met her, and she seems like a sweet girl. I think it's just a phase right now... within the past year, she lost about 50 pounds and has recently been fielding all sorts of new attention from guys. Still, it's a bit unnerving that she can be so negligent of these guys' feelings during said phase.

I agree it's Mark's fault, too... I'm surprised he would do something like this, it really seems out of character for him. Good to hear that most guys wouldn't do the same... she must really be something for him to date her, it must be more than something physical because I don't think he'd risk his friendship with Stan just for that.

The fault's not with the girl, she dated him a short while, she doesn't owe him much loyalty or respect. The friend however, is a friend of 10 years, and that deserves loyalty and respect.

It depends on the type of girl you're looking for. A good number of my friends have ended up dating and/or marrying people that either are not native New Yorkers, or are from out of state. I've personally had better luck with women outside of NY than I have in NY, and I've lived here all my life.

My wife used to date my best friend, wayyy back when before I even knew her. They didn't date for long mind you, but I remember my friend saying how he "let 'the one' get away" etc etc and apparently had strong feelings for her, even a while after their breakup. We met under different circumstances, he didn't introduce us or anything like that, and when he did find out I was dating her, he was really cool about it. Of course, all the talk about her "getting away" subsided. I suppose it was weird for him for a while. The bottom line for me was my feelings for her - so in a sense I was selfish, but in love, don't you have to be sometimes? She may have been the apple of his eye at one time, but his time came and passed.

My take is that you can't disregard your feelings for someone based on their past, even if it involves one of your friends. If your feelings are strong and it feels right, nothing else matters. I am glad I gave it an honest effort (obviously) because I ended up marrying this woman. I knew within 2 weeks of dating that we would be married. And my friend is still one of my best friends, and he hangs out with both of us and there is no ill feelings or any weirdness.

I would say only in extreme cases, under special circumstances, would I have avoided her.
