I am a bit of a bourbon connoisseur, and my favorite is Wild Turkey Rare Breed, which can routinely be purchased for $25-30 a bottle. I rank it as vastly better than anything else in the sub-$50 price range. In general the Wild Turkey whiskeys are worlds better than Jack Daniels, and even garden-variety Wild Turkey 101 is better than many "premium" whiskeys like Knob Creek or Maker's Mark IMO.

i've always liked Balvenie's 12.

heading to a scotch bar tomorrow for some quality thursday night drinking. should be awesome considering their list.

Evan Williams Single Barrel Vintage is the best value I've found. very highly rated. Last time I bought a bottle, it was in the $25 range. Excellent sipping whiskey.

Beam Rye
Knob Creek
Wild Turkey 101
Wild Turkey Rare Breed
Beam Black is very good, especially for the price.

And then of course there is the Canadian and Irish whiskey like Crown, Bushmills, Jameson.

There are so many small distillers that it will be tough to try em all but its fun!

I got a bottle of theirs for Xmas with the rodeo label on it. I ended up regifting it to a horseman/rancher I know.

Now I'm thinking that wasn't such a good idea. 🙁
