1440x900 issue

I am unable to get my monitors native resolution, 1440x900. Any suggestions? Its not my gpu or drivers, because i have used a friends monitor and it works fine there. what gives?

The thought of a monitor not supporting its native resolution is quite funny..

That aside, are you sure 1440x900 actually IS your monitor's native resolution?
 
I had the problem with an Nvidia 6800 card, but fixed it by unchecking the box to hide resolutions that the card did not support. It turns out that the Nvidia driver was part of the problem, as an older version of the driver worked fine, but the newest one at the time did not allow 1440x900.
 
For a more specific answer, please tell the exact brand/model number of your monitor and the model of videocard you have.
