I understand. I drop my monitor nearly all the way down to the desk, so it hides the stand anyway lol.

Hey, I have a gtx 970 with 1440p IPS & it looks gorgeous & runs everything great. U don't need AA at this resolution as there aren't as many jaggies. Us old timers remember when AA was first released it was marketed as important for resolutions under 1080 where jaggies are the worst.
Tried doing 1080p and personally it doesn't look as crisp. 970 is perfect for 1440 with all modern games I play.
Of course 1080p doesn't look as crisp as it has less pixels and you're running it on a display whose native resolution isn't 1080p. Antialiasing is still very much needed for 1440p as well as 4K. Personally I think most games are fine with just FXAA or preferably SMAA which are nowhere near as big performance hogs as MSAA or DSR.
