I think I need another 780TI to get close to 120 frames @ 1440. Ridicilous to need 1500$ of gpu's to push a SINGLE monitor

You could just lower some in game settings? Can you tell a difference in 120Hz vs. 96Hz.. I am trying to look and feel for a difference, but I can't see or feel it? I just bought BF4 today, so maybe I will in that game?

When you spend as much as I have you dont want to settle for lower settings. Im not sure about 96 v 120 hz but I can tell a huge difference between 60 and 120.

If you're in some smoke it might dip below 60. It stays above it the vast majority of the time though. I'm sure anyone here with an OC'd 780 can confirm.

I just dont see it.

Anyone with a 780 can try, if you have a 1080 panel run a 150% rez scale and ultra everything plus 2mxaa and post some number please.

150% rez is 1440 for what i have read.

I hear ya  60Hz to 96Hz is a big improvement, but 96Hz to 120hz for me is not so much.

I just picked up the game today. I can give it a go on a 1440 panel sometime soon. Are we talking SP of Muti?

Seems feasible for an AVG framerate in SP

I know single player it will most likely do more than 60. Im more concern with multi for the OP. I mean i think that's what most people that play bf4 do it multi!

I would try 64 conquest servers that are full, shangai map, kubra dam are good demanding maps. Get in the action on foot or vehicles. Flying will give you good fps.

No one's talking about SP. The only servers I play on are 64 player. I do have windows 8, don't know if that matters, but I had 60+ for the majority of the time even with the 64 player beta servers.

Perhaps you don't realize how much faster a 1202mhz 780 can be than a 290?

So which is it? Do you have a OC 780 and BF4 along with a 1440 monitor?

Your first few post sounds like you dont. And this last one you sound like you do!

And i was replying to Face2Face not you about the single player or multi because he asked about it.

I actually have 780 SLI with a 1440p monitor. I was simply saying that anyone else who also has an OC'd 780 and a 1440p monitor can confirm that what I say is true.

And that graph he posted was part of the conversation being had about whether or not an OC'd 780 can handle BF4@1440p with everything cranked, which you wont seem to accept.

And hold 60 frames.

Dont leave that part out.

I dont accept it because from my experience with 1080 everything cracked out to ultra and 2msaa the game will drop below 60 and sometimes below 50 if stuff gets hairy.

I dont have a 780, but i have a 290 and AMD cards do better in BF4 than nvidia.

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/battlefield-4-graphics-card-performance,3634-9.html

There's a toms hardware article with 1440. There's no 780 but there's a titan (better than a regular 780 would you not say?).

Now the only downside is that is 4msaa and not 2.

But look at the titan frames.

Minimum 37 average 47.

BF4 pushes cards pretty good. It runs better in AMD, and i still struggle with 1080 if i put any msaa on.

So yes, i still stand by my view that a 780 even and OC one, will not run BF4 @ 1440 ultra settings and 2 MSAA and stay above 60 when shit hits the fan.

Just not happening. And by OC i also mean the average OC of 1200 or so for the 780.

I found another benchmark.

http://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/battlefield_4_vga_graphics_performance_benchmark,8.html

1440 Ultra 2MSAA.

780 average 56.

And that was not in multiplayer, but a single player portion of the game.

I have been running BF4 at 1600p with my 780Ti OC card, and I too have found that with MSAA on, it dips down into the 40's with a 1200Mhz overclock.

I cannot tell a difference with MSAA on or off, but with it off, it never, ever, goes below 80fps even when the game is getting very busy - and usually runs 90-100 most of the time - so I have been leaving it off.

That is with multiplayer, on a 24/7 pistols only Op Locker server.

Yup same issue with me on 1080 and my 290. I can tolerate dips to the 50s but once it gets below that it becomes very noticible for me.

I used to be able to run it before. But since the last patch performance has gone to shit. The fps used to be more steady, now they are all over the place.

I'll take video tomorrow when i have the time. I like how you posted a benchmark, say AMD performs better, meanwhile a 7970 gets beat by a 770. Turn MSAA down a notch, and OC the 780, and you're going to have performance more in line with what the 690 shows, and that was from the beta.

I know it hurts your ego to think that your PCIE toaster oven can only do at 1080p what an OC'd 780 does at 1440p, but that's just how it is.

I found that one too, a few posts up. Perhaps you remember quoting it. Also, single player seems to actually be more GPU intensive than MP is.

Runs perfectly fine (avg 60 fps) with my 670 gtx SLI with "only" 2gb @ Ultra & 2x AA. Funny thing is some SP missions drop to 40fps, but MP its avg of 60fps. Wierd but i think their patches have been focusing on smoothing out MP more than SP.

If i were u id definitely wait for Maxwell. Only a few months to go!

Just my .2 cents.

I am playing the game @ Ultra with 2XMSAA @ 1440P and I get dips into the 30's in some areas in SP. Its mostly around 50-70FPS on avg. The game is beating the crap out of my 3570K and keep in mind I am also on Windows 7. GTX 780 @ 1320/1650

With my rig in my sig, I run BF4 with these settings with vsync on. I get 60fps all the time except for a slight 5fps dip in one portion of the Shanghi map. And at these settings the game still looks great. I think it looks better that Ultra settings sometimes.
