I had one when I was 14 or 15. I had a T27 or T50 or something like that. Old skool Ericsson mobile phone. Pretty bad ass imo. I made the odd call but rarely used it 'a lot' and it was on pay as you go. My dad topped it up for me with £10 but again I didn't didn't use it often.

Allowance and chores. I pay well for extra stuff like babysitting his sister, washing cars, etc.

Cool, with boys you shouldnt really have to worry about him using up a lot of minutes... unless he is gay.
I got my cellphone at 13 and since i never used many minutes i was rolled into the family plan the next year.

Oh, and I'm sure he'll be calling girls. He's 14. I lost my virginity at 14. While I don't want that for him just yet, he *is* learning how to play...

This part's the funny part.. What if it was a 14 yr old daughter?

Say the same thing now :)

My daughter is only 2. I'll burn that bridge when I come to it...

;)

jesus christ....a 12 year gap between kids?

why on EARTH would a 14 year old need a cell phone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHO IS HE GOING TO CALL!!!!!!!
you know target sells a cell phone that only has 4 buttons i think, a power button, and 3 buttons to call just 3 different #'s, 1 is home, 1 is a parent, and 1 is 911. It is a pay as you go thing. SO if you let him buy it so he can "call you to let you know when to pick him up from a friends house" etc then you made a mistakeeee
