$14.95 for Master Replica's LOTR Sting FX sword at ToysRUs B&M

Apparently Master Replica's poor packaging choices and late time to market has caused many of their Sting FX swords replicas (which sold for $120 and are really very nice) to sit in the stockrooms of Toys R Us. They are now going for an absolutely insane $14.95 at B&M TRU's.

The sword looks and feels very much like a real metal sword but when you flip a tiny switch on the handle the blade lights up like in the Lord of the Rings movies...

Article on sword with some pics

Get em while you can, I snagged a bunch for gifts.

(By poor packaging choices I mean the picture on the box makes it look like the blade is made of cheesy blue plastic)

Most TRU's have these sitting in the section with plastic swords and armor though they've shown up scattered throughout other stores...

Here's a link to cheaper batteries for this sword (especially if you bought more than one)

Yeah, I'd like to know the details of what surface they used on it as it really looks like metal on first glance...

edsmith42, what is B&M TRU's? Is it an online retailer?

They don't have the sword at Amazon's TRU.

Thanks

It means Toys 'R Us Brick and Mortar. The actual stores, not online.

Anyone able to snag one of these from a TRU to send to me? I'll gladly pay for it, shipping, and a bit extra for your trouble.

Thanks!

These are awesome I picked up 5 at Gurnee Mills on a trip to Chicago a couple weeks ago. Sold 2 right away at $50 each at the toy show I was going to. They look amazing when lit up.

Good luck finding these though. Any collectors are going to jump on all of them if/when they find them in stock

Couldn't find them here in SF Bay. Found all the other LOTR stuff as well as the swords under role playing, but didn't find this. Bummer.

Anyone have a SKU?

Can anyone pick one up for me and ship it? I'll pay $30 to cover cost, shipping, and a little extra for you, pm me if interested.

Edit: Got one, will make a great b-day present for my friend

Wow cool.
A quick google search shows this link: http://www.theonering.net/scrapbook/group/1413/range/1
Has a bunch of higher res shots of the glow and non glow. And on the 2nd page is the box, which DOES look dang cheesy lol. Now I'll know what to look for :) The shots are all availible in 1600x1200 as well as the default they are at first. There's a little link under each pic when you view it.

I must say, this looks pretty cool. I'm definately going to go there and check it out see if my store has them.

Lol they are already on ebay for $40ish.

Found a UPC on google: 836453000720

I tried in Louisville and they said they sold out months ago. Funny though, they knew exactly what I was talking about when I asked. Usually, they're clueless.

Southern NJ stores said they didn't have any and they don't remember carrying any? Are they lying or were they only carried by TRU stores in BFI?

Scored. Went to another TRU and asked "Where are your swords?". The girl pointed me right at them. The box is way bigger than I thought. I was looking for a box maybe half that size.

Don't forget to leverage your $10 off of $50 and 20% off of anyone item coupons. Although they take the 20% off after the $10 off. What happens is that if you buy 10 things, you get $1 off of each item with the $10 off of $50. You can find the coupons on the TRU website. Is it against the rules to post links to a companies own coupons listed on their own site?

Redwood City, CA

You'd think considering this thing was $120 that they would have included a couple of batteries.

Sucess!! I found 5 at a store one state over in PA. Got piggish and tried another store at a mall nearby, no luck. I agree with the previous guy who said for the MSLP of $120, you'd think they'd include batteries. Guess that's why they are now selling for $50....:)
Glad I got em for $15. At $15, I'll spring for the batteries...;)
