Last year, the TeAm's ranking had mostly stabilized at 10 hours after the start:

Let's see what this year brings. Our standing at this time,
11 hours past the start:
rank 7 for accumulated points, rank 13 for hourly output during 10:00 - 11:00 UTC
12 hours past the start:
rank 7 for accumulated points, rank 12 for hourly output during 11:00 - 12:00 UTC
13 hours past the start:
rank 7 for accumulated points, rank 12 for hourly output during 12:00 - 13:00 UTC
14 hours past the start:
rank 7 for accumulated points, rank 9 for hourly output during 13:00 - 14:00 UTC
15 hours past the start:
rank 7 for accumulated points, rank 11 for hourly output during 14:00 - 15:00 UTC

Edit,
At 06:10 UTC pschoefer of SETI.Germany said:
Very good preparation of several teams this time. (Especially XS, OCN and TAAT. We are already used to it from the Italians; after their split it is even true for both Italian teams.) We [SETI.Germany] are slowly working forwards from rank 10 just now. At least Team China doesn't present itself as strong as last year, when they were practically designated winner from day one. It could become entertaining at the top this time.

I'd been filling bunkers with WCG since the beginning of the month, then when those were full, some VMs got created and those bunkers filled as well. My output is not going be anything as spectacular from this point forward, I'm all in now.

I only had a small bunker because I made some mistakes. Oh well, I'll get better as I become less of a n00b.

Making up for it by putting my last Ryzen rig and my Skylake laptop on the job. Was going to sell off one of my Ryzen rigs but Microcenter pricing instead has me eyeing a 1700X instead... that rig is now back to work.

I'll just unload another AMD video card and my older Intel rigs so I can justify building another rig. It's almost Black Friday after all 😉

So we went down to 7th? I can't seem to find the hourly stats page on there site I was look8ng at last night.

based on the last hour stats(points in the last hour), we are going to loose about 6 more places in this week.

It's inconsistent due to task length. Just a few hours ago we were 1M production for that hour making us #1 in hourly production.

I was afraid of that. Maybe Stefan has some surprises in store, otherwise our scrappy little TeAm is not going to hang with the big boys. I've got about 140 threads on it, many of them old and slow, best can do.

I have over 260 threads, 64 of them threadrippers@3.9 ghz, and 2 Ryzen 7's(16t each)@3.9, and 5 E5 Xeons@2.5 ghz (28 threads each), and a few others 8 thread boxes.

But these guys are something else.

@iwajabitw, Tony got the link in post #53.

@IEC, the 1 M update at 19:00 UTC included two of the 9 work buffers that I needed to upload today. I.e. the little bump was old work, not due to varying task length.

@crashtech, my current plan is that 4 buffers will follow in Friday, and 9 on Saturday. (That's when their respective deadlines are.) These 22 buffers are the work from 3.5 days before the Formula Boinc sprint.

Then there will be 22 buffers from 3.5 days between FB sprint and WCG event, which I think I will upload on the last day (early on Wednesday).

@StefanR5R Thanks, but the link only shows total points per team to me. Granted it may be formatting because I'm on my phone. The one last night had the last hour results. So I may be able to see the full page once I'm on my computer tonight.

@StefanR5R ah, that makes sense. No wonder there is such huge variability, lol.

Some of these teams have very large numbers of cores, that's for sure.

@iwajabitw, if you click on the TeAm in the table, you get on a page with an overtake estimation at the bottom. This estimate may also be readable on a phone. I suppose the estimate is based on the running average from the last 1/2 day.

You know guys, its really disappointing and depressing when you have 12 computers, and HUNDREDS of threads all crunching, and we now in 9th place ?

Yet we are back at 7th with the 10:00 UTC update. We passed both Italian groups, which both bunkered a lot before the race, similar to us, but we have higher hourly output than them currently. But there are two groups behind us with much higher hourly output; TPU and LAF. I.e. 7th won't hold.

9th place final would actually be a very good result if we can achieve that. We were 9th too in Pentathlon's WCG City Run half a year ago. There was less bunkering going on at that event, but remember that we got at this rank partly at the expense of our Pentathlon Cosmo@h Marathon ranking (13th).

TeAm rank at previous WCG Birthday Challenges:
2016 - 15th
2015 - 25th
2014 - 26th
2013 - 21st
