Sure, I can. I'm Folding, so just let me know what I need to do as I've never been involved in any race (outside of the Anandtech vs. Tom's beat down competition). 😉

Excellent! You are already folding so there's nothing else you need to do other than say you're in.

Well, you said you are folding, so the only other things, are whats your average ppd ? and vote on team names. Peter will setup and manage the teams.

Right now, I'm around 1.3 million PPD, although it will be higher right now because the extreme cold we've had, so I've been using more machines to help heat the house.

I'll have to think about the names as I am pretty indifferent on that part.

Count me in. I'm also salvorhardin on f@h. My output will be similar to last years. Right now I only have my 7950 running and I'm hoping to fix my r9-390 within the next week.

BTW, from what I can gather (some have zero ppd) everyone but me is totalling 12 million ppd.

Okay, okay, I'll join. 🙂 Though I'm taking a week off for PrimeGrid on one or more GPUs. It's amazing what Tony's old Xeon can do in F@H, though.

And I think I'll join with my FoldingCoin name, "KenG6_ALL_1L2FCFF7KQozWduokvBMCAKvurAbj2rwnC" 🙂 Although @StefanR5R was right, it's pretty much worthless, and I may quit it after this year.

OK, folks and racers, I have collected the numbers and the starting points are in my spreadsheet.
I'll publish the first table tomorrow, now it is time to celebrate with all the kids ...

What team names did we decide on, and what are the teams ? I guess I can wait until tomorrow and find out then.

Well, with 2 1080's and 2 1070ti's still idle, I am at 15 million ppd for 12 1080TI's.

Hmm, was browsing ebay to see if I could pick up an older card on the cheap to boost my ppd, and saw this listing. This can't be legit right?

https://www.ebay.com/itm/EVGA-GeFor...3484f91:g:6ioAAOSwbKdcBAwN:rk:1:pf:0&LH_BIN=1

Thought the listing might indicate it's for th box and some cables or something and not the card itself, but listing seems to be for the NIB gpu. Seller has good feedback, but hasn't ever sold anything. Bizarre. I'm almost tempted to plunk down the $90 just to see what shows up. Although, I suppose it's possible, someone's account got hacked and nothing shows up. 😛

EDIT: Prob a hack. Listing gone now.

I would be extremely wary of that ebay listing. Chances are, it's a hacked account.
Yah, most likely. I'm not a regular ebayer, so I have no idea how often this type of thing happens. Back to my regularly scheduled browsing of old 9xx and 1050's in my price range. 😀

[...] ebay.com/itm/EVGA-GeForce-GTX-1070-Ti-FTW-ULTRA-SILENT [...] $90
Wasn't $90 about the usual price asked for GTS 450 based fake 1050 Ti and 1060? This seller must have been a bit desperate if he went for labeling it a 1070 Ti. (GTS 450 is a cheaply available chip whose identifier can still be altered by the BIOS vendor, unlike with newer chips, AFAIU.) Did the card have a VGA port?

Prob a hack. Listing gone now.
If it was just a small vendor, this was perhaps auto-removed by ebay's algorithms.

Here are are the teams (with preliminary names) and the first stats:

When the poll closes, I will change the names. I have used the numbers from the previous races and the numbers some of you have provided. You can be assured that I will balance the teams as soon as I have more data and as soon as more racers are added.

The daily production:

I will do more stats as the race progresses ...

We need more racers! Many more!

Peter, did you miss me, or should I not have said "tentatively". What I should have said is, partially. (I don't have all of my rigs dedicated to F@H yet, but I've got a dual RX 570 rig in, at least the last couple of days.)

Folding under VirtualLarry

Lane42 and VirtualLarry, you are both in.
I have also restructured the two teams ... the difference between the teams was just too big.
Here are the stats for December 3:

We have also a very nice increase in production during the past 10 days:

We are, as a team, producing more now than in 2017 (and in all previous races):

Production for the first two days:
2018: 65 578 404 points
2017: 57 295 761 points

Considering that my F@H-computers have started just a few hours ago and that Lane42 has to post some production, this is just great!

Well, I don't know what my production was last year, but I have probably increased it 10 million ppd or so. Most of my 1080TI cards were bought in the last year.

Well, mark, your ppd January 1, 2018 (at the end of the race) was 12 892 891 - which was awesome. Your ppd now is closer to 15.5M ...

Your total production in
December 2017: 361,6M points
January 2018: .. .. 396,2M points
November 2018: 373,2M points ...

Yea, I just looked, it was 12 million. If I had enough power, I still can add 2-3 million ppd for the 2 1070ti and 2 1080's that are currently idle.
