13inch laptop w/backlit keyboard?

I currently have a lenovo y410 and I like it, but it's just a little too large for all the moving around I do carting it to and from school and around the house.
Besides the mobility issue, I hate the glossy screen.

I'd like to find a 13 inch laptop that has a backlit keyboard (where the letters/numbers actually light up if possible, not just a light under the keyboard), and a non glossy screen with an nvidia 9series GPU if possible.

I thought the dell xps 13 would have all of that, but I don't think the keyboard is lit.

I like to use the laptop inside at night, and outside during the day so a lit keyboard and a non reflective screen is important.

Does anyone have any suggestions?
I'd obviously like to keep the price down under 1000. I could use the dell outlet if the xps 13 actually has a lit keyboard.

IMHO, the Latitude E4300 offers the best combination of function and portability in the whole Dell line. Since it's a "business machine", the E4300 doesn't meet your GPU requirement but you still might want to consider it.

Reasonably priced units are available in the Dell Business Outlet and if you sign up for coupons, you can get an additional 15% - %20 off during promotions. I recently paid just over $1K for a 4GM RAM/128GB SSD/Vista Ultimate machine with 3-years of next-business day, on-site service and "Complete Care" (which means they cover accidental damage to the screen). Machines with conventional disks are a bit cheaper.

Viewguard hmm...
That looks interesting. Not too expensive either. I could definatly give that a go.

I didn't even look into any of the HP laptops actually. I had a really bad experience with an HP laptop and HP's customer service that totally turned me away from ever buying another one. It's a shame too, because their products could have potential.

I totally wasn't planning on buying anything for a while but I ended up pulling the trigger on the Dell xps 13 because the Dell outlet had a really nice configured one with the LED screen. Now I just have to look into that viewguard stuff.

Thanks all!

The new Apple MacBook Pro 13" has a backlit keyboard. And while it has a glossy, not a matte, screen, it's LED lit and bright enough to overcome even outdoor daylight. And a killer 7 hr battery as well.

Running Windows XP or Vista on it isn't a problem either if OS X isn't your cup of tea.

So, would an E4300 on the Dell Outlet for $640 with just the most basic configuration, assuming I upgrade the ram later, be the best option for that price? It still has the excellent 6MB processor and the LED screen and a 3 year warranty.

I never buy from Dell without a coupon of some sort. Sign up for e-mail coupons and wait a week or two for the inventory builds up. You'll have more choices and get 15% or more off. Sign up for both home and business.
