Seems like an interesting device. I have some old external SCSI cases that I would like to turn into external Firewire cases. These look like it could do the job.

well my idea really was to turn mobile ide racks into scsi like racks using internal firewire

since these mobile ide racks are not hot swapable unless they run like firewire or usb

a poor mans scsi
