Do these combos from Outpost come put together? What kind of heatsink/fan?

Seems like a decent deal to me!! I have bought combo's and they usually are retail versions of both processor and CPU..

Can I just pick this up from Frys?

Anyone has experience with this P4S5A2 motherboard?

Good deal!

I want to buy it, but the 4 pcs in my room with one not even being used and one used only on the rare occasion ...all staring at me, I have no reason whatsoever to buy it.

But these wouldbe great to throw with a cheap case and 350watt ps, the $29 30gig OM hard drive, if you can find it, and a 256meg chip of ddram for like $40. Buy the 128 meg Radeon 8500 LE for $150 from buy.com or whatver price it is now.

And you, my friend, have yourself an excellent PC for under $370 (monitor not included!)

After talking with ECS I found out that this motherboard, ECS P4S5A2, is now considered OEM and they legally can't provide any support for it. They won't even be posting drivers or bios updates. When I asked them whether the files posted for the P4S5A would work they said that they couldn't answer that question either. The told me they sold the board to BTC and if I had any tech questions to call them at 510-657-3956, ext 356. I tried that as there wasn't anything on BTC's website either regarding this board and all I got was voice mail.:disgust:

Cashman:

It may be a little tough to get this deal. Using the link at the top of the thread, I got to the page showing the product and price still at $139 (I just tried it). Then I put in the order, got an email confirmation a-ok, an hour later got an email cancellation saying the product wasn't available anymore. So I called into customer service and asked for a supervisor. He checked and found that they still had the individual components (albiet at a much higher combined price) in stock but he said he'd make a one time exception for me since I had a copy of the web page and sell them at $78 for the CPU (item# 3030999) and $61 for the mobo (3196640). Good luck to you if you try!
