They should visit the famous place where Nicolas Cage hangs around, I forgot the name of the district, but really good bars and clubs there.

There is also a really nice district with all kinds of electronic toys you can think of.

DMZ is really cool too

I think it's because the S. Korean government pumped several hundred million dollars into creating a broadband infrastructure in their country.

thats one of many reasons... another reason is our cities have astonishingly dense population in metropolitan areas. while this does not sound very inviting at first, it does have a share of its benefits: the most common type of residence in korea is a high-rise apartment building. naturally, if you lay down a phat line under a single block you would be feeding hundreds and thousands of households instantly.

so when they say korea is the most wired country in the world, i would have to agree to a certain degree. just take a walk outside in any part of korea and you will be amazed at multitude of 'pcbang's (net cafes) in just about every corner of the country.

actually, over in japan they are gettin even sweeter deals nowadays as far as internet goes...

Yeah, I just got back this morning. This time my trip was only a week long (To Seoul, PoHang and Chinhae). I will be pcs'ing to Seoul in July for possibly my final tour of duty... Great city (Seoul)...but too much smog.

yea, they created a large fiber infrastructure or something.. lots of excess bandwidth, so koreans get it cheap🙁 their bandwidth makes most of our broadband look pathetic. course they got the density that makes it easier, but still, they are ahead and the daily usage/how it affects their lives is much different. i think they can even order/stream tv and stuff. wired magazine had a thing on it a while back.

as for the dog, thats a chicken... or duck.

All of asia is that way, in japan a gigabit internet connection is $89 (quoted from a friend living there with a gigabit connection) and 100mbit is $50. America is way behind in terms of bandwidth prices.

yeah like i mentioned above they have some real good internet connection in japan... anyone know what WINNY is? 😉
